I started writing in 1993 after a career in the military. My wife wanted to know what I was going to do with all the free time I now had on my hands. I told her I wanted to become a freelance writer.
After many rejection letters I finally had and article published in Lost Treasure Magazine. The editor began to give me valuable tips on getting published. One of the most valuable was to learn to take great photographs. I had been fooling with cameras for years so I just started learning more about how to use them better.
The result has been hundreds of magazine articles published in national magazines over the last 15 years and two books this year.
I also belong to the Florida Outdoor Writers Association where I have learned a lot of lessons, made many friends and found that creative writing is a very worthwhile occupation.
